Loving Hands Feeding 1400 People Downtown Hamilton Every Saturday Since 2019

Angels in Our Midst

A wealthy country such as Canada cannot ethically ignore the most vulnerable in society. Whatever the cause of their plight, the Gore Park Angels offer help to everyone -- rain or shine, cold or heat, 52 weeks a year! Guests may be struggling due to job losses or insufficient wages, to unavailable housing or unaffordable housing, or to tragic circumstances that mean they won't survive without help. That is what the Gore Park Angels do for these struggling residents of Hamilton. Hot meals every Saturday morning was the goal when this effort was first begun in 2019. Since then it has grown to an average of 1400 guests every Saturday morning, and now includes much more than just hot food. A large supply of take-home groceries are available to every guest. Please Note: due to forecasted construction plans for Gore Park, the event has recently moved to Hamilton City Hall, just a block south and west of Gore Park. Same organizers, same hot meals and groceries, and same time every Saturday.

News Bulletin

On Friday Nov. 16, Hamilton Police arrested Ben Leonetti (69) on charges of Criminal Harassment.

Mr. Leonetti is the former domestic partner of Andrea Horwath (56), MPP for Hamilton Centre, and leader of the Ontario NDP.

Hamilton Police seized Mr. Leonetti's cell phone and detained him for several hours. Police would only tell him that Ms. Horwath alleges he followed her and her entourage down an alley and videotaped her as they headed to her car on Sunday Nov 11 following Remembrance Day celebrations at Gore Park. Mr. Leonetti strongly denies the allegations.

Mr. Leonetti was later released on a promise to appear on Dec 7 at 9am, Room 204 at John Sopinka Courthouse at 45 Main St E, Hamilton.

A Spouse is a Spouse is a Spouse

If a woman...
  • spends 25 years with a man in a common law marriage
  • pays all his living expenses so he can attend University and while starting his career afterwards
  • actively supports his career at every step and in every way possible
  • gives up her own promising career to take care of the household when he starts working
  • looks after the children and all of the responsibilities that go with it
Does she deserve to share in the husband's success after the marriage dissolves?

What if the same thing happened to a man?

Wait until you see the visual comparisons.
